Delivering a new level of freshness in ready meals

 

Challenge

An international food company wanted to disrupt the shelf stable ready to eat entrĂ©e meal category within the US, with technology that would allow our client to deliver a new level of freshness & quality for noodles included in shelf-stable, microwaveable meals.

 

Solution

A Consumer Advisory Panel was set up to meet once per month for four months to compare prototypes to gold standard reference products.

The time between sessions allowed prototypes to be created utilizing new processing technology. Iterations focused on key consumer requirements of sauce adhesion to noodles, noodle firmness and colour.

 

Outcome

Final formulation resulted in near gold standard quality with innovation protected by technical patents. Products achieved significant, sustained sales.
