A client of SAM-PPL developed a biometric scanning device that it wanted to test on different ethnic types in the UK to evaluate the effectiveness of the technology.
What we did
Individual respondent stations (including a laptop and scanning device) were set up in large central location venues. Three target ethnic groups were pre-recruited to attend an interview.
After capturing basic physical and health information, respondents took part in:
1.Initial scan: three scans per finger, three fingers per hand
2.Verification stage: to ensure the registration was successful each finger was scanned 10 times and carried out for all 6 scanned fingers.
Outcome
The client was able to determine the level of efficacy of the scanning devices based on the data collected.
