Challenge

Our client was interested in entering the hair care product market with a newly developed ingredient. It was crucial for the client to conduct comprehensive research and better understand how this innovative element influenced different aspects of their product to ensure it resonated with their consumers who are increasingly seeking products tailored to their unique hair types and concerns, as well as a brands that resonates with personal ethical or environmental values.

Approach

Quantitative Descriptive testing was conducted using trained panelists to rate attribute intensities on 15-point line scales.

Ten samples, with one representing the client's product as the control, were evaluated against nine competitive samples in a sensory evaluation.

Outcome

By exploring the effects of product ingredients on a variety of hair types and conditions, our client was able to unlock valuable insights that guided them toward formulating a high-quality, effective product that met the needs and desires of their target audience.
