Challenge
A leading UK provider of ‘Coffee to Go’’ from petrol stations, was seeking to validate the quality of its coffee versus two leading high street providers. The challenge was to provide a great tasting drink, with and without milk, that satisfied the needs of drivers.
Solution
A series of Central Location Tests across the UK talking to pre-recruited buyers of black and white coffee at petrol stations. Venues were selected to be central to sources of all three coffee types with a group of product collectors managing the logistics of ensuring samples were available for every respondent and that temperature was carefully controlled. This was a blind test following a complete design.
Outcome
The relative performance of the three coffee providers was clearly determined. Diagnostic analysis identified clear directions for improvements to the client’s coffee blend.
